Welcome to the Omogo-sangaku Museum, which offers a comprehensive overview of the world of nature in Kumakōgen-chō and the Ishizuchi Mountain Range!
Located at the entry to the Omogo-kei gorge, a nationally-designated Place of Scenic Beauty, this is Shikoku’s one and only mountain-themed museum.
The permanent exhibition includes around 3,000 pieces introducing to visitors the history of Mount Ishizuchi and the Omogo-kei gorge, the flora and fauna native to the Ishizuchi Mountain Range as well as its rocks and so on, mountain worship related to Mount Ishizuchi, the history of its climbing and more.
Drawing on its collection of over 70,000 materials and inquiries from the region, the museum also holds a range of special themed exhibitions, courses and more, including seasonal nature observation events, insect study classes and so on!
Admission fees:
General: ¥300, Elementary and middle school students: ¥150
* Discounts of ¥50 for groups of 20 or more
* Half-price admission for visitors 65 or older (Please present ID verifying age)
* Half-price admission for visitors with a physical disability certificate, certificate of intellectual disability or mental disability certificate, as well as one caregiver
